7-Eleven

With an indefatigable doorman, banana tree, and pile of firewood in the winter, 7-11 is regrettably one of the only places in the Square to find anything to eat, smoke, or throw at cars after 2am. Pre-made subs, rotating dogs of mystery meat, and suspiciously stuffed bakery sticks are about as substantial as the fare gets, although the Ben & Jerry's and graham crackers with Hershey Bars and marshmallow fluff make as good a late-night snack as any. The cappuccino machine, tub of Red Bull, and decent selection of munchies make 7-11 a worthy pre-cramming caffeine supplier or post-party break. Slow service and interminable lines makes for heavy traffic at (almost all) times. Beer and wine sold M-Sa 11am-10:45pm. Carding is very strict—those without Mass. ID should bring back-up. ATM.
