Considered one of the nation's foremost drama companies, Robert Brustein's A.R.T. stages a diverse selection of rarely seen classics, avant-garde American premieres, and HRDC Mainstage shows. Touted as “the world's first convertible theater,” the 556-seat space morphs into 3 different stages. Avid theatergoers should consider purchasing an ART student pass ($60 for 5 admissions; can be shared among students), as tickets are pricey. F-Sa shows $47-72, all others $36-62 by section, though a subscription can save you up to 80% for 6 shows. Student rush tickets ($12, cash only) available 30min before the show; limit 2 tickets per ID. Phone reservations with credit card only. In the same building, The Loeb Experimental Theater (aka The X), features free student shows. Also, check out the newly-acquired Arrow Street Theater for smaller shows and experimental projects (2 Arrow St.). Join the art-list on the
website to hear about visiting speakers, workshops, and events.
