Forget Herrell's. Bypass Toscanini's. Run past Baskin Robins without even looking twice, because Christina's in Inman Square has, hands-down, the best ice cream in Cambridge (and maybe Boston). Indulge in one of their more exotic flavors—Chocolate Banana, White Coffee Mocha Flake, Adzuki Bean, or Mango, for example—or stick to the more basic (but equally delicious) fruit and chocolate options; either way, you won't leave disappointed. Yogurt-seekers will be in heaven with Christina's incredible variety of hard yogurt—the mint chip, oreo, or coffee toffee flavors are so good, they could almost be ice cream. Substance abusers can pass the time between their morning nip and afternoon cocktail with flavors like Kahlua, Bailey's Irish Cream, and Rum Raisin; Christina's also offers a variety of coffee and mocha options for “lightweight” users of everyone's favorite gateway drug. Notably cheaper than ice cream shops in the Square, and with a lot more character, there's no reason not to make the leisurely walk here. Besides, after filling up on all that ice cream, you're going to need that 15min walk to waddle off all that guilt. Ice cream and frozen yogurt $2.15 for 1 scoop, $2.85 for 2 scoops, $3.34 for 3 scoops (feel free to mix and match your flavors). Sundaes $3.77-4.71, banana splits $5. Ice cream cakes (order in advance or buy a pre-made one) $15-30, depending on size.

If you're willing to make the trek to Inman (c'mon, just leave the Square, it's not that hard!), East Coast Grill and Raw Bar offers a nice change of pace and excellent food. This tropical-urban grill, with its Southern and Asian stylings, is a favorite spot for BBQ and seafood lovers. Start with something delectable from the raw bar (half-dozen oysters $10.50), then dig into extremely fresh fish ($20-$24) or barbecued meat ($9-20). Great list of beer, wine, sangria, and creative mixed drinks. To fend off that hangover, stop by the Su Latin Brunch and go crazy at the Make-Your-Own Bloody Mary bar. Entrees $10-25.
This section contains information from Harvard Student Agencies' Unofficial Guide to Life at Harvard. Sky-blue walls and playful fixtures contribute to the charming environment filled with an upbeat clientele. Many patrons opt to forgo a table in one of the dining areas for a couple of stools at the casual bar, the better to enjoy awesome mango puree margaritas and other quasi-tropical concoctions. Friendly service matches the ambience; laid-back without being indifferent.
Parking costs $5 in the lot that's directly across the street at the Cambridge Nissan shop.

Authentic and exceptionally fresh Thai dishes dominate chef-owner Tony Suktheva's dinner menu (Drunken Noodle and Montien Fried rice) as well as appetizers (Kar thong tong, bang bang and fried calamari). Straight-from-Bangkok dishes like Montien Jungle and Larb gai (super-spicy minced chicken) sing with the region's sharp flavors: lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal and chili. Montien Thai in the heart of Cambridge's Union Square also offers a mean beef massaman and their red curry is smooth, sweet and loaded with fresh veggies. Also, this Cambridge Street hotspot recently unveiled its sushi bar which comes Nigri (filets of raw or marinated fresh fish on seasonal rice) or Hosomake (raw fish and seasonal rice wrapped in seaweed).
