Surrounded by the hallowed halls of Harvard University, the Cambridge Common Playground is all about the pursuit of fun. This playground, renovated in 1990, is geared for children ages one to ten. It is fully fenced and has a gate which locks. Only the craftiest of tikes can escape! A large, wooden climbing structure is the focus of a lot of activity. It is a little weathered but still in good shape. Children have lots of opportunities for imaginative play on bridges, slides, platforms with steering wheels, and more. The ground cover is mostly sand with a soft, spongy material surrounding the climbing structure. Would-be drivers will enjoy the wooden auto with rubber tires.
Swings include three infant and one for older children. Benches surround the play area and are a welcome site for weary parents. A picnic table with benches is on-site if you'd like to pack a lunch or have a quick snack. The playground is a favorite of local preschools. You'll notice many different groups popping in and out during the day. Fortunately, there is enough space for everyone to play happily.
A school focused on nurturing a child's independence. Accepts ages 21 months to 8 years.
Their educational summer camp features nature, science, visual art, performing art, team adventure, and swimming activities, field trips, and much more.
Not a museum per se, this joint facility of the University and the Smithsonian Institute houses offices for scientists and temporary exhibitions on astronomical regulators. The Center's main investigative divisions and facilities include atomic and molecular physics, high energy astrophysics, optical and infrared astronomy, planetary sciences, radio and geoastronomy, solar and stellar physics, and theoretical astrophysics. The less astro-intense may just want to look at the pretty stars; check out the Center's Observatory Nights (3rd Th each month 8pm in the Phillips Auditorium; doors open 7:30pm) at which visitors can hear a nontechnical lecture, watch a film, and participate in telescopic observing from the roof (weather permitting). For the astronomy info recording, call 617-496-STAR.

Graffiti is a place for quick notes. Know the hours of a business but not sure where to put it? Did something just happen at this place? Leave some graffiti.
