It is thought that Inman Square is named after a wealthy Boston merchant named Ralph Inman (1713-1788). A little off the beaten track and about a 10-15 minute walk from the Central Square T stop, Inman Square is home to a bevy of creative clubs, bars, and restaurants. Simultaneously artsy, eclectic, and ethnic, it's a great neighborhood all to itself! Stop by the S & S Restaurant, which is a favorite of various populations: jewish residents, old ladies, the church crowd, and families despite its mediocre over-priced food. Or try the jazz brunch at Ryles for a more hip locale. For a mini interesting square, go up Beacon st from Inman square and you'll reach a corner with Dali's (probably best Tapas in Boston), Biscuit coffee shop, The Wine and Cheese cask (probably the most comprehensive wine store in Boston) and the Kebbab factory (excellent Indian food).
