Kendall Square is a neighborhood in Cambridge and is the first of several squares within the city and the closest to Boston as well. Kendall Square is serviced by the MBTA Red line and is the first red line stop in
Cambridge. Kendall Sqaure is also the home to
MIT and in recent years has gained fame for the large biotech and booming computer industry that is thriving within the square with complexes that house companies like Google, Genzyme,
Biogen and pharmaceutical companies.
Although not noted for its cuisine or bustling bar scene, Kendall Square does have a few tried and true places to sit and enjoy a good meal. It still houses some popular spots like
Legal Sea Foods the
Kendall Square Cinema which is well known throughout the city as a leader in art house, foreign, and non mainstream cinema and also
Cambridge Brewing Company.
