Harvard University is the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. It was founded a mere 16 years after the
arrival of the Pilgrims at Plymouth. Seven presidents of the United States - John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Theodore and Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Rutherford B. Hayes, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, and George W. Bush (biz school, not undergrad) - were graduates of Harvard.
It hosts many academic, cultural, and theatrical events throughout the year.
