“Four generations ago, our great-grandmother would welcome her customers with ‘Es and es!'” (that's Yiddish for “eat and eat”). And eat you shall; whatever you're craving—from burgers to Bloody Marys, knishes to tiramisu—neighborhood favorite S&S has it on the menu. You'll find standard diner fare—steak and eggs, home fries, bagel, and fruit ($13), or buffalo wings ($7)—as well as more unique items, including blintzes ($9) and Bavarian French toast stuffed with strawberries and cream cheese ($9). The reuben ($9) is everything you dreamed of and more, and the french fries are definitely not to be missed. Great selection of cakes, bagels, and cheeses available from the kosher-style (though not actually kosher) deli. Call ahead if you're planning weekend brunch or you'll find yourself saddled with a long wait; reservations accepted for parties of six or more.
