Situated in a building on the National Register of Historic Places, Longy offers lessons, master classes, chamber music, jazz, and frequent performances and student recitals. Adult classes range in length and price ($125-2220), and private lessons are available for all levels of ability. Workshops vary from one-time seminars ($45) to ongoing sessions ($145). Discounted parking at the University Place Garage by the Charles Hotel. Regular concert schedule free.

The Longy School of Music provides budding musicians with serious (and not so serious) opportunities to experience music to its fullest. Instruction in musical instruments is a cornerstone of the Longy preparatory studies program. Other opportunities for learning through music come in the form of theory classes, chamber groups, ensembles, choirs, and youth chorales. The Young Performers Certificate Program is a program for talented musicians ages 8 to 18. Students participate in a full day of Saturday classes designed for those interested in becoming accomplished, well-rounded musicians. Admission is by audition.
