Located opposite Lamont Library, The Inn at Harvard offers luxurious accommodations at a location that couldn't be more central. Original works of art from the Harvard University Art Museums decorate the skylit atrium, a warm welcome to the bright rooms that lie just beyond the vaulted entrance. For Commencement (roughly $350/night and a minimum 3-night stay), make plans 4 years in advance. Reservations accepted beginning Freshman Week. (“Do try and graduate in 4 years, sweetie, or Mommy and Daddy are going to forfeit their hotel room deposit.”) The Inn at Harvard's 113 elegant rooms with queen or double beds go for $150-200 in the winter and $170-360 in the summer. Three junior suites and 1 presidential suite are available. High speed wireless internet in all rooms. Underground parking available for $30/night.

Step right up—cheapest in the Square! André is committed to keeping salon haircare affordable for students. Haircuts $10; wash, cut, and dry $25. Free cut with full foil highlights ($75+). The green and white linoleum and peeling '80s posters may not be the most upscale, but it beats the clinical sterility of Great Cuts. André also cheerfully corrects your hair horrors. Maybe you got a lousy cut at Vidal Sassoon; maybe you had a little incident with a bottle of vodka and a Weed Wacker—either way, corrections are still only $10. Paul Mitchell and Nexxus products available.

Clothing Store
Hours:

Though small in size, this source for “experienced clothing” is an overwhelming sensory experience. Sequins, fringe, and regrettable patterns from the 60s and 70s burst out from the racks and baskets lining every inch of free space. The infinite selection, coupled with amazingly low prices, makes Oona's a great stop for costume-partiers year-round. More sedate fare like suede and leather jackets ($5+) or Levis cords ($10+) balances out the boas and plastic devil horns.

Revolutionary rhetoric at Harvard does exist beyond Mather tees, and this small bookstore is a goldmine for anyone devoted to or interested in “the cause,” whatever that may be. Pamphlets, manifestos, and books (especially the Little Red kind) are available on a wide range of revolutionary topics, including gender and sexuality, Third World countries, and oppressed cultural groups. Check out one of over a dozen political films available for weekly rental (around $5). Also available is the ever-popular “People's Republic of Cambridge” T-shirt ($16); march on over and buy one before the capitalists auction them off.

Graffiti is a place for quick notes. Know the hours of a business but not sure where to put it? Did something just happen at this place? Leave some graffiti.
Sometimes street view does not point exactly to the right place. You may need to "drive around" a bit.
